York Rally 2020 cancelled

York Rally 2020 is CANCELLED.
|
We regret to announce that the 2020 York Rally has been cancelled. The organising committee has taken this difficult decision on a precautionary basis, in line with Government advice on social distancing. Although official guidance does not extend currently until June, it seems very unlikely that anything like normality will have returned by the weekend that the Rally was due to be held.

So to minimise risks to health, and to provide as much notice as possible, we have today announced the cancellation of the 2020 event.

We have now started the process of refunding all bookings for campsite and saddlebag sale.
|
- if you originally paid via cash or cheque you will recieve a refund by cheque,
- if you paid via the online booking system your refund will be sent to the paypal account you original payment was made from.
Please bear with as we make these refunds, which may take some time to complete. We are a very small team of volunteers who organise the Rally around our other committments, and much of the administration of this will fall on our very hard-working treasurer Rachel.

We have decided to simply refund all bookings to simplify admin and accounting. A number of Rally-goers have already asked whether we can hold their bookings over until the next Rally, or just to treat the funds as a donation, but we prefer to keep things very simple and just make refunds across the board.

If you would like to donate and support the Rally, we urge you to accept the refund. Then, as ever, any Friends memberships and/or donations will be gratefully received via the website at: http://yorkrally.org/friends-of-york-rally/ There is a 'contribute' facility is towards the bottom of the page where you can make a donation of any amount.

Traders due to exhibit at the York Rally 2020 have been contacted separately and will also be refunded in full.

We can reassure all Rally-goers that the York Rally will remain in financial good health after making these full refunds, and we are also very grateful to our many suppliers who have agreed very reasonable terms for this unfortunate cancellation.

A further announcement will be made in due course about the 2021 York Rally.

And finally...
Normally this section would detail the date and location of the next York Rally planning meeting. Under current circumstances, however, we have cancelled the upcoming meeting on the 28th March and the committtee is currently working by phone and email. We will of course keep everyone informed when physical meetings resume, and in the meantime please feel free to contact us using the email address below.
