LATEST NEWS: Advance bookings have now closed! But you can still just turn up and pay on the day!

Do you have questions about where to go, what to do when you arrive, or other similar queries? Please see our Visitor FAQ page!

The York Rally campsite will be run along traditional lines, with a separate (motor vehicle free) area for lightweight campers and plenty of pitches for caravans/motorhomes.

You are very welcome to just turn up and pay on the day! Please bring cash – unfortunately we cannot accept cards or cheques. Next year (2016) we do hope to have card facilities.

  • The fee is for up to three nights camping (19th, 20th & 21st June 2015), including shower use.
  • The site opens at 4PM on Friday and closes at 10AM on Monday.

Booking on arrival or online after 1st June:

  • Motorist pitch £30 (extra people £15 adult/£5 child)
  • Lightweight pitch £25 (extra people £10 adult/£5 child)

By booking a pitch you agree with the following statement: “I agree to comply with the organisers’ instructions and not to hold them responsible for any loss or damage to persons or property. I also agree to comply with the requirement of the Campers’ Code (copies available from the Camp Steward at the event, or in advance from campsite@yorkrally.org), especially the need to be quiet after 11pm each night. The organisers reserve the right to instruct those who fail to comply to leave the campsite, so as not to cause an unacceptable disturbance to other campers.”

  1. Great news about the rally.
Received receipts for booking and friends donation but no campsite number or anything else.Am I missing something?
PS Will there be a badge for 2014 as I have them from 1999?
    Best wishes
    John Peacock

    1. Hi John, I’ve drawn this to the attention of the campsite team who will confirm, but I’m pretty sure you just turn up on the day and you’ll have a pitch number allocated then, so I don’t think anything has gone astray. Re badges – we are working on this and hope to have details shortly on the York Rally Merchandise page. One of our committee has an unbroken collection back to (I think) the very first ever badge in the 1940s, so we’re keen to keep up the tradition!

  2. Regarding the lack of camping pitch numbers, I would assume that these could not be done prior to June, otherwise how can the individual bookings be placed in groups? I seem to recall that the cut-off date for group bookings done individually is the 1st June.

    1. Hi Mark, that’s all correct – until we’re a bit closer to the event we can’t finalise the site layout and allocate pitches. We’ll have a list of everyone who has pre-booked and will allocate pitch numbers as you arrive. Yes, pre-bookings do indeed close on the 1st June, as it says in the text above. All the best, Peter

  3. Perhaps we could have an informal Velovision Group in the camping pitches or a recumbents group so we eccentric cyclists can be together.

    1. Hi Frederick, I’m not 100% sure – if you did it online you should certainly have an automated receipt at least, but I’m not sure of the procedure for postal bookings. I’ll ask the campsite team to contact you on the email you used to leave this comment to clarify. All the best, Peter
