York Rally Sportive – 21st May 2017

Further update: rider timings are now online here.

Update Sunday afternoon: Thanks to all who rode the Rally Sportive today, and also to all the volunteers. marshals and everyone who helped with the catering! More later (the last finishers are still coming in!), but for now here are the (unedited) pictures taken at Low Mill plus a few more at Marton (food stop) and Rally HQ in Wigginton. Please email publicity@yorkrally.org if you would like a higher resolution copy of any of them (no charge 🙂 ) or if you would like any image you’re in removed.

Two rides into the beautiful North York Moors: 140 km & 100 km

On the 21st May 2017, two routes take riders from the start point in Wigginton (just north of York) high into the beautiful North York Moors. Enter online now.

Ride the Dunnie:
Wigginton (just north of York), Sheriff Hutton, Terrington Bank, Hovingham, Caulkeys Bank, Farndale, Low Mill, Castleton, Danby, Rosedale, Hutton le Hole, Marton, Castle Howard, Wigginton.
Come on, do it!

  • Come and ride it if you’re hard enough!
  • Probably the hardest Sportive in Britain!
  • Think you can climb? Prove it!

There are two ride lengths – and the longer ride comes in two versions, with or without the ridiculously steep (1:3) ascent of Rosedale Chimney Bank. Apologies that the updated mapping now has the longer ride a little under 140k in both versions – but there’s still plenty of climbing to get your legs going!

  • York Rally Grande Classic Dunnie: 132.7 km, via Rosedale Chimney Bank. Total ascent 1665.36 m.
Download KML & GPX or see more info via MapMyRide. For Garmin, try TCX or CRS formats.
Note: routes were updated 13th May.
  • York Rally Grande Classic Dunnie: 135.9 km, avoiding Rosedale Chimney Bank. Total ascent 1603.79 m.
Download KML & GPX, or see more info via MapMyRide. For Garmin, try TCX or CRS formats.
Note: routes were updated 13th May.
  • York Rally Classic Dunnie: 100 km. Total ascent 969.55 m.
Download KML & GPX, or see more info via MapMyRide. For Garmin, try TCX or CRS formats.
Note: routes were updated 13th May.

Entry is online until Friday 19th May via British Cycling: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/155921/York-Rally-Sportive#entry
