Campsite bookings

There are still spaces left on the campsite at the Yorkshire Cycle Festival 2026 at Driffield Showground (see news here), including the York Rally, the Retrobike Show, the 20″ Show and the National Clarion CC Summer Meeting.

Advance bookings have now closed but you are still very welcome to just turn up from 4pm on Friday and pay for camping on the day – we will not run out of space.

Site plan

Please click the image above to enlarge or click here to download a site plan PDF to get an idea ahead of time how the site is laid out.

When to arrive

Please aim to arrive after 4pm on Friday (unless you have pre-booked, in which case early check-in will be available ASAP after 3pm). But please note that our volunteer set-up team cannot usually complete the campsite set-up and final safety checks until 4pm, so no camper will be able to go to their pitch before 4pm.

If you do arrive before 4pm that is no problem – please just park up safely in the day visitor parking. But please be aware that site site-up will be ongoing and we will not yet be set up for visitors. If you do come on site please take extra care as motor vehicles may be moving around.

Where to arrive

You’ll then be marshalled to park up so that you can check in on foot before you move onto the campsite itself – please just follow our volunteer marshalls’ directions.

Checking in

You will need to visit the campsite check-in Portacabin (again, see site plan) to check in and receive details of your allocated pitch, before you move onto the campsite itself.

  • If you arrive by bike or on foot, you can go straight to the check-in. We will open at 4pm on Friday for non pre booked campers, and as soon as possible after 3pm on Friday for pre-booked.
  • If you arrive in a motor vehicle, please park up as directed in the main day visitor car park or overflow parking (in South Field). Please go on foot or by bike to the campsite check-in.
  • We cannot allow motor vehicles onto the main campsite before 4 pm on Friday: the volunteer set-up team needs the time to fully prepare the site and have it signed off by our safety team.
  • You do not need to bring any printout of your booking or to show us confirmation emails – we will have details of your booking and you can just check in by name. But if there are any changes, please let us know at check-in.

On Friday evening…

  • Campers arriving on the Friday should note that there will be food and drink available on Friday from 4pm from our caterers on site – please support the on-site vendors, as a percentage of the takings goes to help support the Festival.

On Saturday…

  • Campsite check-in will be open until around 11am on Saturday morning. If you arrive after that in a motor vehicle please park up in the day visitors parking and come by foot or by bike to the Info Hub in the Members Pavilion so that we can check you in there before moving you onto the campsite. Anyone coming by bike or on foot can just come straight to the Info Hub.

Please also note:

  1. The camping fee covers Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The site must be vacated by 10am prompt on Monday morning please.
  2. The site speed limit for ALL vehicles is 5 mph. This includes cyclists! The site may well be busy with cyclists, pedestrians and/or dogs who may be too busy enjoying themselves to be aware of approaching vehicles.
  3. No motor vehicles are permitted in the lightweight camping area. Anyone wishing to camp in this area with a motor vehicle must park it in the day visitior car park.
  4. Please read and note the campsite rules which you can find on the campsite booking page, especially the need for quiet after 11pm. Your neighbour on the campsite may be rising early for a ride. Please always use the many toilet facilities on site even if a short walk is involved – we are informed by our Driffield Showground hosts that the fields do not need any extra fertilising!
  5. If you have any problem on the campsite, issues with noisy neighbours or anything else, please do let one of the organising team know – if you cannot find anyone please use the enquiries phone number below. We would rather sort it out than have you unhappy.
  6. And please be extra patient with our all-volunteer organising team if there are any glitches – this will be our first time at Driffield and the new venue may throw up some surprises. We’ll do our very best to ensure everything runs smoothly, but please bear with us.

Donations of items welcome!

Donations of cycling items (except complete bikes and clothing) are welcome to raise funds for the event . We’ll have a table set aside in the Rix Pavilion for sellable donated cycling gear. All parts and accessories (except clothing and complete bikes) are very welcome. Please bring your donations to the Rix Pavilion as early as possible during the event. All funds raised go to support the Festival.

The Bygone Bykes (Yorkshire) stand will also have an area where you can donate less sellable items for other visitors to pick up for free.

  • Prices are set so that the earlier you book, the cheaper it is. The online booking forms below always use the current prices. You are welcome to turn up on the day without a booking (we will not run out of space!), but it will be slightly more expensive, and we also can’t allocate you a pitch alongside your friends or clubmates.
  • Please note that advance bookings are not refundable – except if the event is cancelled, in which case full refunds will be made for all bookings.

You can book by post or online. However you make your booking, we will use the information you provide only to administer the campsite and to communicate with you about your booking. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.

Campsite rules & info

By booking a pitch you agree with the following statement:

“I agree to comply with the organisers’ instructions and not to hold them responsible for any loss or damage to persons or property. I also agree to comply with the campsite rules detailed below, especially the need to be quiet after 11pm each night. I understand that the organisers reserve the right to instruct those who fail to comply with these rules to leave the campsite, so as not to cause an unacceptable disturbance to other campers.”

Campsite Rules in full:

The site will be open from 4pm Friday.  All pitches are to be vacated by 10am Monday.

Pitch only behind the stake bearing your pitch number. Do not remove the stake.

Keep access clear at all times

No open fires are to be lit and barbecues (which must be clear of the ground) should be used carefully.

If you bring a dog, be considerate of others and keep them on a lead and please clean up after them. Dogs are permitted in all areas of the site except for any condoned off areas, including the arena and any other areas from which the general public is excluded and, with exception of assistance dogs, in the marquees or in the vicinity of catering areas. Dogs must be kept under close control  and keepers are requested to refrain from using extending leads in all camping, trade and exhibition areas, other circulation areas and designated access routes. All waste from dogs must be disposed of appropriately and certainly not in the recycle bins.

The site speed limit for ALL vehicles is 5 mph. This includes cyclists

Motor vehicles may only be parked on a motorist pitch, beside any tent or caravan. Alternatively they can be parked in the main car park near the main entrance.  Once parked on a camping pitch, motor vehicle movements should be kept to an absolute minimum during the event. Please follow our volunteer marshall’s instructions at all times.

Motor vehicles must not be parked beside or enter into the lightweight camping area.

Noise is to be kept to a minimum between the hours of 11 pm and 7 am to avoid disturbance.

Rubbish is to be put in the bags provided and deposited in one of the skips when you leave. Barbecue coals are only to be disposed of in a skip once totally cold.

Chemical toilets must only be emptied into the collection tanks provided.  The gulley in the enclosure is for caterers’ waste water only.

Security: The Festival is generally a very safe event, with large numbers of fellow cyclists on site. But the Festival site is also open to the public during the day and has a large perimeter to secure at night, so we do recommend that everyone at the Festival remains aware of security at all times. If you do spot any suspicious behaviour, please report this ASAP to the Info Hub or to any member of the organising team, or to the 24 hour security team on site, who will be conducting regular patrols throughout the event and overnight. Both campers and visitors must be responsible for the security of their own belongings and the Festival organisers can take no responsibility for any loss or damage. Over the ten+ years since the current team has been running the event we have continuously improved the event’s security and there have been only a very small number of incidents. Most of these, unfortunately, affected cycles which were either unlocked or poorly secured, so as is always good practice at any public occasion, whenever you leave your bike unattended please use a substantial lock to fix it to something solid. Barriers are provided in the central display area and in the lightweight camping area to lock to. For campers, for extra peace of mind we recommend that if you have a car, caravan or motorhome you keep cycles inside the locked vehicle overnight for maximum security. If instead the cycle must be locked outside overnight, as an additional precaution you could consider removing the front wheel and storing that separately (inside your tent or motor vehicle).
