Earlybird campsite booking closes soon – and a first glimpse of the site layout and arena activities!
We’ve just had another planning meeting, and we’re delighted to report that our all-volunteer organising team has made huge progress as we gear up for the first ever Yorkshire Cycle Festival at Driffield Showground – if you missed it, see here for why we moved!
Campsite bookings are already very promising – many thanks to all who have booked in already! The lowest earlybird campsite pitch prices are available for another week only, until the end of January! Please book now for the lowest prices and to help our planning!
And to whet your appetite further, here’s a first glimpse of how we’re planning to lay out the campsite and the new venue. It’s still very much a draft, and we’ll refine it after more site visits and as we get closer to the event, but you can maybe already see that there are multiple campsite areas and a very useful network of proper surfaced roads between them – plus two indoor pavilions and a great arena area as the centrepiece for the usual trade show, displays and events!

NEW for 2026: Glamping!
If camping is not normally your thing, but you still want to be on site with your fellow cyclists, we also have a new option for 2026: glamping! We’ve partnered with a great local provider, The Glamping Group, who offer luxurious, fully equipped tents ready for you to turn up and enjoy. To find out more and to make a booking directly with them, please visit the Yorkshire Cycle Festival 2026 Glampsite page!

In the Arena and beyond…
We’re planning some great arena entertainment – both to watch and to join! Our friends at Focus Rides will be back with multiple activities:
- Raleigh Chopper racing – free of charge to join!
- Retro Mountain Bike racing – free of charge to join!
- Grass track or cyclocross – to be confirmed ASAP – entries will need to be pre-booked via Focus Rides, and entry fees may apply – details as soon as we have them!
- Air bag jumps are back! As last year, jumpers will need to pre-book via Focus Rides, with a small charge to cover costs.
Plus, we’re delighted that the Show & Shine will be back bigger and better than ever. As well as the Retrobike Show and Shine we are expecting two major national BMX clubs to be at the Festival – one will run their own Show & Shine as part of what will become their annual event.
Not least, we’re very pleased indeed that the Guided Rides Programme is shaping up very well. Our Rides Co-ordinator Yvonne would especially like to thank the local cyclists who have stepped forward as ride leaders – but more are always most welcome, whether or not you have local knowledge! If you can help, please contact her on rides@yorkrally.org. We’ll publish full details of the rides programme closer to the event, so watch this space.
And finally
This update is long enough – we’ll have another soon. Our next planning meeting, at which all are welcome, is likely to be a site visit on the 14th March – please just get in touch if you would like to join. Our organising team can always use more willing hands…
Meanwhile, as ever, your all-volunteer organising committee hugely values your support as we do our very best to keep this event alive and successful, and we very much hope to see you in Driffield in June. You can book a campsite pitch here – you have just a week left before earlybird prices close at the end of this month!
Until then, tailwinds and safe cycling in 2026!
The all-volunteer Yorkshire Cycle Rally & Festival organising team
