Campsite bookings

By booking a pitch you agree with the following statement:

“I agree to comply with the organisers’ instructions and not to hold them responsible for any loss or damage to persons or property. I also agree to comply with the campsite rules detailed below, especially the need to be quiet after 11pm each night. I understand that the organisers reserve the right to instruct those who fail to comply with these rules to leave the campsite, so as not to cause an unacceptable disturbance to other campers.”

Campsite Rules in full:

The site will be open from 4pm Friday.  All pitches are to be vacated by 10am Monday.

Pitch only behind the stake bearing your pitch number. Do not remove the stake.

Keep access clear at all times

No open fires are to be lit and barbecues (which must be clear of the ground) should be used carefully.

If you bring a dog, be considerate of others and keep them on a lead and please clean up after them. Dogs are permitted in all areas of the site except for any condoned off areas, including the arena and any other areas from which the general public is excluded and, with exception of assistance dogs, in the marquees or in the vicinity of catering areas. Dogs must be kept under close control  and keepers are requested to refrain from using extending leads in all camping, trade and exhibition areas, other circulation areas and designated access routes. All waste from dogs must be disposed of appropriately and certainly not in the recycle bins.

The site speed limit for ALL vehicles is 5 mph. This includes cyclists

Motor vehicles may only be parked on a motorist pitch, beside any tent or caravan. Alternatively they can be parked in the main car park near the main entrance.  Once parked on a camping pitch, motor vehicle movements should be kept to an absolute minimum during the event. Please follow our volunteer marshall’s instructions at all times.

Motor vehicles must not be parked beside or enter into the lightweight camping area.

Noise is to be kept to a minimum between the hours of 11 pm and 7 am to avoid disturbance. 

Rubbish is to be put in the bags provided and deposited in one of the skips when you leave. Barbecue coals are only to be disposed of in a skip once totally cold.

Chemical toilets must only be emptied into the collection tanks provided.  The gulley in the enclosure is for caterers’ waste water only.

Security: The Festival is generally a very safe event, with large numbers of fellow cyclists on site. But the Festival site is also open to the public during the day and has a large perimeter to secure at night, so we do recommend that everyone at the Festival remains aware of security at all times. If you do spot any suspicious behaviour, please report this ASAP to the Info Hub or to any member of the organising team, or to the 24 hour security team on site, who will be conducting regular patrols throughout the event and overnight. Both campers and visitors must be responsible for the security of their own belongings and the Festival organisers can take no responsibility for any loss or damage. Over the ten+ years since the current team has been running the event we have continuously improved the event’s security and there have been only a very small number of incidents. Most of these, unfortunately, affected cycles which were either unlocked or poorly secured, so as is always good practice at any public occasion, whenever you leave your bike unattended please use a substantial lock to fix it to something solid. Barriers are provided in the central display area and in the lightweight camping area to lock to. For campers, for extra peace of mind we recommend that if you have a car, caravan or motorhome you keep cycles inside the locked vehicle overnight for maximum security. If instead the cycle must be locked outside overnight, as an additional precaution you could consider removing the front wheel and storing that separately (inside your tent or motor vehicle).
