Cycling club information (2015 archive)

This is an archived page from the 2015 York Rally website. Please use the website menus to find current pages! Or, return to the archived 2015 website homepage

We are delighted to invite cycling clubs and related organisations to exhibit FREE OF CHARGE at the 2015 Rally.

Among the clubs confirmed so far are:

The ‘Displays and Activities’ page shows the full list of participating organisations.

We would be delighted if your club could also add to the event by showing what you do with a display stand, perhaps running rides or other activities, or you could just make the event a friendly get-together for your members. Club members can camp together if they wish – just fill out a ‘group’ name when booking a pitch.

This ‘no charge’ offer applies to any primarily enthusiast, non-paid-staff cycling club or organisation, be they national or local or internet-based, who could put on a display, activity or ride at the Rally.

It would be wonderful if we could to line the grasstrack arena and the main avenue approaching it with club stands, a real celebration of grass-roots cycling and the people who make it happen!

To express an interest, please just leave a comment below or email us on and we’ll be in touch.

  • Might your club want to organise a race, display or parade using the track which runs around the Knavesmire? We have posted a video, pictures and measurements of the perimeter track so that you can see if it would be suitable.

  1. The National Clarion Cycling Club 1895 welcomes the return of the York Rally and would once again like to support the event by having a stall in the Club tent (assuming there will be a Club Tent) or by bring along our own small gazebo for a small display.

    1. Many thanks Charles and we will be delighted to welcome the National Clarion 1895 back to the Rally! One of us will be in touch in due course re the detail arrangements 🙂

  2. The British Human Power Club will hopefully have a stand at York in 2015 with various recumbents on show… With a bit of luck we may have the tandem (sociable) machine featured recently setting a 24 hour record on TV…

  3. Hi there! My charity, ‘Open Country’ is setting up a ‘York Tandem Club for Disabled People’ this spring. Could we possibly have a small charity stand at the Rally? It would be really helpful for us in terms of meeting up with potential new volunteers and stokers.

    1. HI David, thanks for enquiring! I’ve passed this to the relevant people and we’ll be in touch 🙂 Cheers! Peter

    2. We currently live in Leeds and are planning to move to York in the next couple of years. I ride with with my partner, Harry who is almost totally blind and we would be interested in any tandem rides locally. We are hoping to attend the York rally!
