Read on for final arrival info and a (dry!) weather update!

The first Yorkshire Cycle Festival at Driffield Showground is this weekend, on the 12-14 June! Our first small team of hard working volunteers is already on site to start the set-up.
The forecast is perfect for a cycling weekend – the setup team may get a bit damp, but it should be dry right through from when we open on Friday to Monday morning when the last campers depart.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone on site!
Read on for some final details about joining us in Driffield, whether as a day visitor (free entry, free parking!), as a pre-booked camper or to camp on site without an advance booking (we will not run out of space!). Full campsite details, including site rules, are here for reference.
When to arrive
Campers: Please aim to arrive after 4pm on Friday, unless you have pre-booked a campsite pitch, in which case early check-in will be available ASAP after 3pm.
Please note that our volunteer set-up team cannot usually complete the campsite set-up and final safety checks until 4pm, so no camper will be able to go to their pitch before 4pm.
If you do arrive before 4pm that is no problem – please just park up safely in the day visitor parking (see site plan, below). But please be aware that site set-up will be ongoing and we will not yet be set up for visitors. If you do come on site please take extra care as motor vehicles may be moving around.
Day visitors: You are welcome to come along from 4pm on Friday, or any time on Saturday and Sunday. Please just park in day visitor parking (which may overflow into the South Field).
Where to arrive
- By bike or on foot, you are welcome to use either the main entrance or the cycle entrance shown on the site map. There are more details about the location and arriving by public transport here.
- If coming by car/motorhome/caravan, please use only the “motorist entrance” off the A164 as shown on the site plan. For satnav navigate to “Driffield Showground”.
Campers: You’ll be marshalled to park up so that you can check in on foot before you move onto the campsite itself – please just follow our volunteer marshalls’ directions.
Day visitors: Parking for motor vehicles is free but donations are welcome to support this 100% volunteer organised, not for profit event!
Campers: checking in
You will need to visit the campsite check-in Portacabin (again, see site plan) to check in and receive details of your allocated pitch, before you move onto the campsite itself.
- If you arrive by bike or on foot, you can go straight to the check-in. We will open at 4pm on Friday for non pre booked campers, and as soon as possible after 3pm on Friday for pre-booked.
- If you arrive in a motor vehicle, please park up as directed in the main day visitor car park or overflow parking (in South Field). Please then go on foot or by bike to the campsite check-in.
- We cannot allow motor vehicles onto the main campsite before 4 pm on Friday: the volunteer set-up team needs the time to fully prepare the site and have it signed off by our safety team.
- You do not need to bring any printout of your booking or to show us confirmation emails at check in – we will have details of your booking and you can just check in by name. If there have been any changes since you made the booking, please let us know at check-in.
- If possible, please plan to arrive before 10:30pm on Friday evening. But if you are delayed or cannot avoid a later arrival that is no problem, but please call us on the enquiries phone number below to let us know.
On Friday evening…
- Campers arriving on the Friday should note that there will be food and drink available on Friday from 4pm from our caterers on site – please support the on-site vendors, as a percentage of the takings goes to help support the Festival.
On Saturday…
- Campsite check-in will be open until around 11am on Saturday morning. If you arrive after that in a motor vehicle please park up in the day visitors parking and come by foot or by bike to the Info Hub in the Members Pavilion so that we can check you in there before moving you onto the campsite. Anyone coming by bike or on foot can just come straight to the Info Hub.
Please also note:
- The camping fee covers Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The site must be vacated by 10am prompt on Monday morning please so our volunteers can complete the clean-up and get home too!
- The site speed limit for ALL vehicles is 5 mph. This includes cyclists! The site may well be busy with cyclists, pedestrians and/or dogs who may be too busy enjoying themselves to be aware of approaching vehicles.
- No motor vehicles are permitted in the lightweight camping area. Anyone wishing to camp in this area with a motor vehicle must park it in the day visitior car park.
- Please read and note the campsite rules which you can find on the campsite booking page, especially the need for quiet after 11pm. Your neighbour on the campsite may be rising early for a ride. Please always use the many toilet facilities on site even if a short walk is involved – we are informed by our Driffield Showground hosts that the fields do not need any extra fertilising!
- If you have any problem on the campsite, issues with noisy neighbours or anything else, please do let one of the organising team know – if you cannot find anyone please use the enquiries phone number below. We would rather sort it out than have you unhappy.
- And please be extra patient with our all-volunteer organising team if there are any glitches – this will be our first time at Driffield and the new venue may throw up some surprises. We’ll do our very best to ensure everything runs smoothly, but please bear with us.
Donations of items welcome!
Donations of cycling items (except complete bikes and clothing) are welcome to raise funds for the event . We’ll have a table set aside in the Rix Pavilion for sellable donated cycling gear. All parts and accessories (except clothing and complete bikes) are very welcome. Please bring your donations to the Rix Pavilion as early as possible during the event. All funds raised go to support the Festival.
The Bygone Bykes (Yorkshire) stand will also have an area where you can donate less sellable items for other visitors to pick up for free.

Site plan
Please check out the site plan for our new Driffield venue in advance – so that even before you arrive you’ll have an idea of how it’s all laid out. The image above probably won’t be legible – but you can download a PDF version here or using the button below. There’ll also be a printed copy in the show programme of course.
See you there!
Thank you again for all of your support, and we look forward to seeing everyone at Driffield this weekend!
Until then, tailwinds and safe cycling!
